Metric Measurement Science Centers on TpT

Hi all!  I’d love for you all to check out my very favorite of all the lessons I have ever taught – Metric Measurement Centers!  I used this during my undergraduate student teaching and my cooperating teacher still uses it to this day.  It’s a 30 page download that represents a TON of time on my part and includes some pretty awesome stuff if you ask me.  I hope you’ll click the picture below and go check it out… and perhaps let me know what you think!

Mrs. Farley’s Bang-n Giveaway!

For those of you who don’t follow Mrs. Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade, I am here to tell you that you are seriously missing out.  Sometimes being a substitute teacher, I feel like I have to cut down on the silly, fun side of my personality in order for people to take me seriously and consider me for jobs.

I don’t want to be the weird, ditzy sub that nobody wants.

Mrs. Farley is the complete opposite – she is so fantastic that she can be silly and fun and hilarious and everybody still takes her totally seriously.  She’s that awesome.

Seriously, I aspire to be her someday.

So getting to the giveaway.  She got bangs and they’re SUPER cute and to celebrate she decided to throw an awesome giveaway with My Rubber Stamp on Etsy!  Here are the details:

Is that the cutest darn stamp you’ve ever seen in your life or what?  What are you waiting for?  Get over there by clicking the giveaway picture and enter already!  Tell her Ms. Pagano sent you, maybe I’ll get extra points for that.  Haha!

Have a great day, everybody!

Harcourt Storytown Robust Vocabulary

So I’ve been working with Harcourt’s Storytown reading series since 2008 when I did my undergraduate student teaching and from the very beginning, I really liked it.  Of course, every reading series has its flaws but I think Storytown does a great job for a wide variety of learning styles and ability levels.  For this reason, I decided to create some matching games and recording sheets for the Robust Vocabulary words that are included in the fifth grade Storytown textbook “Ride the Edge,” because it’s the one I’ve worked with the most!  I just posted the first matching game set on Teachers Pay Teachers and it’s for the Lesson 1 vocabulary words.  I hope you’ll all click the link below and go to my store to check it out!

TpT Friendly Fonts :)

Hi all - just wanted to post a quick update telling you all about the amazing fonts that I use for my TpT uploads.  All the fonts I use are from Kevin and Amanda and they're absolutely INCREDIBLE!  Amanda is an incredibly sweet person and she allows her fonts to be used for commercial purposes if you post one of her blog buttons to your blog - free of charge!  That is so helpful to people like me (i.e. on a limited budget) because I can use any of her fonts without worrying about the commercial use license.

Thanks so much, Amanda - you are so great!

Another little TpT product!

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to let you all know that I uploaded another short (and FREE!) product to TpT today.  My goddaughter is my little guinea pig; she’s in third grade and has been having some difficulty with math lately.  Since she’s the only student I have consistent contact with, I make sure to try out all my ideas on her first to make sure they work the way I want them to.  So to help her with math, I searched through the blogs I follow and on Teachers Pay Teachers and found some REALLY great math centers for her to use to practice her math facts and skills.  (I have to see if I can post links to the ones I used on here, but that requires me remembering where I got them from… oops! haha).  To keep track of her progress, I created a little recording sheet for her to put stickers on every time she completed a math center and after every 25 centers, I rewarded her with a small prize!  Click the link below to get my recording sheet from TpT.

Hope everyone’s Valentine’s Day was wonderful – The Man took me out for breakfast and even got me the sweetest card.  I do love him so very much.

I got a Liebster Award!

Mrs. S over at Stapler's Strategies gave me a Liebster Award on her blog - how sweet!  Thanks so much, Mrs. S, I really appreciate the recognition!  The Liebster Award is meant to give a little bit of a spotlight to blogs with 200 or fewer followers.  I will definitely be on the lookout for blogs to give this award to myself - if anybody has any suggestions of teaching blogs with 200 or fewer followers that I could check out, let me know in the comments.

In addition, I posted a couple new products on TpT - one free and one is only 50 cents!  What a steal.  I totally think you should go check them out and see what you think. :)

I hope you all have the most wonderful Valentine's Day ever - spend it with someone you love.  I'm off to bed now because The Man is taking me to breakfast in the morning for our own little Valentine's Day celebration.  He hates Valentine's Day (thinks it's a commercial holiday full of nonsense) and yet he celebrates with me anyway with that perfect smile on his face.  He is so wonderful.  :)

Goodnight!

My first TpT item!

Hi everyone!

So I just posted my very first TpT item!  It's so exciting - I'm really proud of myself for actually getting myself in gear and getting something posted.  The item is a page of Valentine's Day writing prompts that you could use for daily journal writing or adjust and use for a longer writing assignment.  I wrote them with students in third through fifth grade in mind, but you could certainly tweak them a little to make them suitable for other grade levels.  I hope you'll all click the link below and take a look!  If you download it and like it, I'd love for you to rate the item on TpT and/or leave a comment here and let me know how you liked it.  If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to send me an e-mail.
